The Tests module provides a repository to organize, create, associate, and run tests to verify that project requirements are met. Select the Tests button on the Module Bar to use this module in TRACE. To learn how to create a new Test Group, see Add/Edit Tree(s).
The Tests module follows a tree-type
structure to allow for the creation of separate groups to organize tests in the
best manner. Testing in TRACE uses the following forms:
● Test Group: A form that contains a set of related Test Case forms. It is purely organizational. See Test Group.
● Test Case: A form where users define the Test Steps that are performed in a Test Run. See Test Case and Test Step.
● Test Run: A form that contains a set of Test Case forms and the Tests Steps associated with them. See Test Run.
To perform tests,
Test Cases must first be created. On the Test Case form, enter Test Steps, and
any related Requirements. Once the Test Case has been saved, select New Test Run… from the Tasks list on the Task pane, and then select the Test Steps from the Test Case tab. When performing the Test
Run, choose Pass, Fail, No Result, or Not Applicable for each Test Step to
complete.
